The Tangerine Dream marijuana strain deserves all the praises it has received. The strain is an hybrid between three already wonderful strains, Afghani, G-13 and Neville’s Haze. Tangerine Dream has inherited all of the best genetics of this three strains making it a crowd favourite. G-13 is a potent cannabis strain with a lot of urban legend surrounding it. It is believed to have been stolen by an unknown technician from the University of Mississippi, having been grown by a group of CIA and FBI agents to harvest the best marijuana strains. Afghani is an Indica dominant strain that offers many of the benefits as the Tangerine Dream, which we will look at later in this article. Neville’s Haze is a Sativa dominant strain that won the High Times Cannabis Cup as early as 1998.

Growing the Strain

Tangerine Dream kush grows well indoors as well as outdoor. But you will need to be in a humid climate and have a lot of sunlight if you are it outdoor. The strain is quite bushy and resembles Indica type strains than Sativa types. Dream in a pot to only 3 or 4 feet so it can be easily grown indoor. Because of it’s strong stalks thanks to its genetic makeup, there is no need to give the plant much support when flowering.

Dream takes 8 to 10 weeks when cultivated indoors . When cultivated outdoors it will harvest by the latter part of October. Dream has quite a big yield with 46 to 56 grams per square foot. This strain is also best consumed when cured. Curing helps to preserve the taste of the bud as well as enhances the smoking experience. Here are the steps:

1.Hang the buds upside down or lay them on a surface that will allow for good air circulation for up to days. Humidity should not exceed 50% and the temperature should be around 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.When the stems fall off, you should seal the buds in jars that are airtight. The humidity should not exceed 65% and the temperature should not exceed 70 degrees.

Tip: Remember to check jars daily for up to a week as mould can develop. This strain can be enjoyed in a number of ways. It can be smoked, vaporized, eaten and drunk.  With its citrusy/ spicy flavour it goes well with foods and drinks of a similar taste.
